Football:

The football team has had an impressive record this reason, 9-1. They started off their CIF-SS Division 1 eight-man playoff run strong, beating Villanova Prep 46-16. The team continued its success story with a win this past weekend against St. Michael’s Prep. The Chadwick team won 58-20.

“Winning was exhilarating. Everyone told me we couldn’t do it, but we’re in semi-finals now and we are going to go HAM,” senior Ignacio Sedano said.

The team will face state-ranked #2 Thacher High School in the semi-finals this Friday, 1:30 at Chadwick Commander Field.

Cross Country:

The girls’ cross country travelled to Mt. Sac Antonio College for the preliminaries. They placed second in their heat, advancing them to CIF finals next week. If the girls do well, they will qualify for state finals up in Fresno.

Tennis:

League record 7-3. First round against Long Beach Wilson, 9-9. Second round loss against Valencia High School 4-14.

“We’re a very young team. More than half the team are freshmen, and even though we didn’t make it all the way through CIF, we really came together as a team and it was incredible to see our improvement,” senior captain Alex Bauer said.

Volleyball:

Girls’ volleyball finished their season with a 9-3 record in league, taking third place. This year the Prep League moved up to CIF Division 2AA, increasing the level of competition the Chadwick team faced in playoffs.

The team came out strong for their first CIF match on Tuesday, November 11th, beating Moorpark in three games.

On November 13th, the team, ranked #9, went up against the #2 seed, South Torrance High School. The players fought hard, taking South all the way to 5 games. Unfortunately, the team ended up losing, 16-14, in the last game.

“We worked so hard all season, and the game against South truly showed our dedication to the program, as we left it all on the court,” senior libero Jillian Parks said.

Water Polo:

The boys’ water polo team ended their season with a 6-2 record in league, coming in with a second place finish after an exciting win over Brentwood high school. For the first round of CIF, the team travelled to Fullerton to compete against La Mirada Splash. Unfortunately, they couldn’t pull out the win, losing 9-13.
